After Pie upgrade can no longer record calls

I use a call recorder for my work.. I drive a truck.. call comes into book a job.. I usually record booking.. since the PIE upgrade call recorder only records my voice.. so I now have to pull over and write the details down.. yep this update made my user experience more suited to my needs... NOT !!! .. apple is starting to look more appealing these days.. each Android upgrade seems to take away the good points and replace them with tedious and hard to find / control new processes
