Google contacts won't sync with LG G2

I use the stock Contacts app on my LG G2 running 5.0.2. When I enter a new contact on my phone it doesn't sync with my google acct on my PC and vice versa. I have gone into Settings>Accounts and toggled auto-sync data on/off with negative results. I have done the same with Accounts>Google>contacts sync with no results. Any ideas? Thanks
