Lg Stylo 2 Plus fingerprint scanner broken?

Hello, well I've had the Stylo 2 for 5 days now. After I figured out how to work the fingerprint scanner it worked pretty well. Yesterday the scanner got extremely hot and now it won't respond to my touch AT ALL. Does anyone know what it could be? Is this permanent?
