Does the microphone on Galaxy headphones work with iMac?

I know that the volume control buttons on Android headphones aren't compatible with Apple products, but what about the microphone itself? Does that still function? I have a video call next week, but I'm not sure how to test this since we don't normally hear the audio coming from our side in a call.
