how do I transfer files from my S7 edge SD 16GB to 64GB?

I purchase a larger SD for my S7 Edge (currently 16GB); purchased 64GB. I would like to transfer everything from the 16GB SD to the new 64GB SD. I tried copying the 16 GB to a windows directory and then copy from windows directory to 64GB SD. I received a message that the folders are write protected and they don't end up copying over. Help!
