Why photo does not load fully although the thumbnail has the complete picture?

I recently took a lot of vacation photos on the HTC Desire 826. To my horror, some photos only appear half and some completely fail to show at all on the play back mode. All it shows is a solid color block although the photo appears in full in the thumbnail.

I did a thorough examination of the properties of the photo and discover that those problem photos have missing image id.

Can anyone help me to restore those problem photos.
