no notifications being received on lg x power

I am unable to receive notifications on my lg x power even though i have it all set up to.have tried to contact lg but no luck.when i get an email it doesnt tell me in the top left screen but there will be a number on my email icon telling me i have some new emails and a number on my facebook app too.
