3.5mm port damaged/broken?

I have an LG K20 Plus, and I've been taking good care of it for the period of time that I've had it. I frequently use corded headphones to listen to music, but something that I've noticed recently is that the female port on my phone will deregister the headphones upon slight jack movement and pause the music, or sometimes even enter headset mode. My headphones were never violently ripped out of the phone, however occasionally the headphones would come loose and I'd have to apply extra force to make them stay in. Is this a defective port? Is my port permanently damaged or broken or is there a fix? I have tried canned air, toothpicking out any stray lint that may have been trapped inside, and blowing the hole out manually. My phone is not under warranty, so I fear that I may be out of luck on this one. Can anyone help?
