Android Version 8.0.0 Message+ Starts at Top

When you open the Message+ application and select a conversation with a new message the messages opens with the scrollbar positioned randomly towards the top of the conversation.

Is there a way to make the scrollbar be positioned at the new message when I open the conversation?
