speed dial and secret access codes

is there any article or information on setting up access to CallCentric voice-mail using a moto-e4 phone and speed dial?

thinking something like: 123-456-7890[pause][pause]*[pause]12345678#

or putting *[pause]12345678# as a separate phone number?
