Voice and group text not an option with new themes galaxy s7

Every time I download & apply a theme, my texting has trouble allowing me to receive group messages at all (it always shows them as needing to be downloaded, but always will fail to download). It also turns off my ability to voice text. So I'm wondering if I can turn off the theme just for the messaging or what I should do
