S7 Samsung . . . voicemail message notification will not go away--"you have no new messages".

I am also no longer able to access (or find) my applications manager. Have spent hours on this. . . I have reset default applications. Short of resetting to factory settings, I am at a loss. Thank you in advance for your help.
