Huawei p20 pro - Can I remove homescreens scroll-down-search-screen?

When i am in homescreens and swipe down a global search bar will appear with the text 'Search apps, contacs, messages...' I find it pretty useless and would rather it showed me my notifications. Is there any way to disable it? Or is it a built-in feature in the OS?
