Can not send text via notification screen

Can not send texts if I open GO SMS Pro from notifications. Have to close program and open it from the main screen. I noticed it's been doing that since the last update. Very annoying after typing text out and it won't send. Have to copy the text, close the program, reopen it via the home screen, then paste. It will then send. Is that an update issue?
