Getting a link to open into browser from a text

I have a Alcatel Android phone that I can't get it to open any links that was sent to me in a text it just gives me a white page & it also won't go back when I hit the back button & if I hit the home key it pulls up this stupid assistant thing that I just can't figure out & I am also having problems getting to other links while looking in browser & from my emails someone plz help I'm about so fed up with this replacement phone that they sent me from straight talk that I'm about ready to throw it out in the middle of the Rd & run over it a few times
