Done Or Open (No Option)

I certainly am not new, nor am I ignorant on How to download APK's and then, Install APK'S onto my phone. What I Am ignorant to is the fact that, How, after I downloaded the app, and then clicked on the Install option, How afterwards, when the installation was complete, that my phone only gave me 1 option. Everyone who knows phones, also knows that, As soon as an app is done installing on your phone, your phone will only give you 2 Options, Those only 2 Options, are these 2 things. DONE and OPEN. This time when the installation was complete, The 2 options were there, but only the "DONE" Option was highlighted, and could be clicked on. it would not give me the option to OPEN the app. So being my only Option, I Clicked "DONE", Which,led me back to my Home Screen. I Opened my Launcher to All Apps, and the App I "SUPPOSEDLY" just "INSTALLED" wasn't even there. So "WHAT" just "DID" get installed on my phone???? Please help me. I have so much information on my phone, I cannot afford any HACKERS or SPY apps on my phone. I just can't. Please help me. PLEASE.
