Broken screen, trying to transfer data to new phone

Hi i dropped my Samsung galaxy S4 the other day and the screen cracked and went totally black, the phone is however still responsive though, It turns on and rings and so on, The phone is locked though, Ive been looking everywhere to try and transfer my data over to another phone and cant figure out how to do it, I tried hooking the phone upto a computer however when it loads it shows no files inside the phone, I think maybe because my phone is locked. Id really appreciate any help as i have stuff on the phone i would like to keep.
