How to restore the back up

I have already done the back up of sms of old mobile on SD Card ....Now how to proceed further ?Please correct my procedure if I am wrong

-Put the SIM in new android mobile
-Transfer the contacts in new mobile
-Do I need to install the App SMS Back up & Restore on New handset also ?
-Copy the old SD Card Data to New SD Card.
-Insert New SD Card..
-Click Restore sms file & Call log file ..

Is it correct procedure ?
