My Samsung Tablet does not recognise the home Wifi (works for other devices e.g. Kindle).

The Samsung Tablet displays other surrounding Wifi networks. I have tried 'forgetting' and re-adding the home wifi etc. I have also tried to connect using the WPS button on the router - fails to recognise the connection. Any idea of what the problem is and how to correct?
