iMessage errors keep me TRAPPED with iPhone :( ?
10+ year iPhone user here.. unhappy with iOS 11 and was excited to finally jump ship to Android Google Pixel 2 XL, which I LOVED after trying it out at the store..
After some more researching, I found MANY iPhone to Android users having issues with receiving messages from iPhone users, despite toggling iMessage/Facetime off and deregistering their phone number with Apple.
Initially, I thought this was limited to iMessage Group chats, but it seems to be an error with 1 on 1 chats as well.
If you came from an iPhone, how was your experience in transitioning to your new Droid?
Most of my friends are iPhone users, and it would be impractical to tell each one of them to delete my previously entire conversation and turn off their iMessage and back on to continue chatting with me, especially with some new Pixels having SMS/MMS related testing issues already unrelated to iMessages.

My App Icons are extremely big and I'm not sure how to fix it.

Phone won't reboot past reboot screen.
Hi.
I've had this Motorola phone for around three years, and there have been no problems until now.
It became incredibly laggy and unresponsive most of the time and I attempted to reboot the phone, however, it won't go past the blue Motorola screen with the 'powered by android' thing. I went into recovery mode and wiped cache partition and it still wouldn't reboot (I left the original reboot for four hours) so I shut down my device.
I'm not willing to do a factory reset as it is near Christmas and I might be getting a new phone anyway. I'm putting it down currently, to overheating and I'm going to leave my phone off overnight.
If someone could leave me some advice below, it would be incredibly helpful.

Why is my sound turning itself off.

Recently my phone will randomly pull up an app in the app store.

Black Screen White LED Light MOTO G Issue
Well i've had my Moto G Phone For about 4 years now? And it was completely dead earlier, Wouldn't turn on or anything, So i plugged it in and all it's doing is keeping a blank screen with a white LED light continuously showing up? It's not charging or something, but i can't figure out what's wrong with it. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 (SMG920F) with Android Version 7.
Every time I wish to log on to any of my regularly used WiFi routers, I am always being asked for the WiFi access password.
This only seems to have happened recently. I use 3 different routers in different locations for WiFi and in the past, my phone normally used to log-on to the WiFi router without having to enter the passwords - it seemed to remember them after logging on for the first time.
Can anyone explain why this is happening now and offer a possible solution to this annoying problem...

I had to manually update to android 6.2 with the official RUU, I didnt this before to update to 5.x with no issues. This time around while updating to 6.2 it got stuck on the last part im pretty sure (this was months ago). I left it overnight to see if it needed more time but it was still stuck when i woke up, so i unplugged it. Now it wont boot past the HTC logo but i can get into bootloader.
When i plug it into my computer i hear the noise it makes when something is connected but I dont know where to look to see if my pc has registered my phone. I cant even try to do the latest RUU phone doesnt register.

Syncing Outlook Contacts with Google Contacts
I always had my contacts on my Outlook Microsoft Exchange account at my old job. Recently I switched jobs and copied all of my Outlook contacts to my Google contacts by copying it to a CSV file, etc. I ended up copying the contacts over to my Outlook Microsoft Exchange account at my new job because I found that it was easier typing emails to contacts as well as it was easy to copy the contact cards of my colleagues into Outlook. Now I am wondering if there is any way to sync the contacts between the two accounts without going the CSV route. In other words is there an app or a function in Android that can sync contacts between Google and Outlook.

I'm trying to connect my android bluetooth to a vaping mod ... the ocular c. That mod cannot show any code for verification.
I have tried; 0000, 1111, 1234 and the like, and am still met with "unable to verify".

Huawei mate 9: my imported Google contacts show up with Chinese dialing code
I purchased a mate 9 from HK, and imported my numbers from my Google account. Though my language and locale settings are set to UK, and the contact numbers all show the correct UK format numbers, when I dial the phone automatically presets +86 and gets to dial. Unless I physically edit each number and insert +44 for UK, only then it works. Why is this happening and what's solution please?

LG K20V Text Message Notifications on Lock Screen
Hi, I am using an LGK20V, Android version 7. Is it possible to get notifications of text messages to appear on lock screen? Right now I have Lock Screen Notifications set to "Show all notifications" and I went into both Messaging and Messaging+ and set them to Show All as well. But if my phone is locked and I get a text, it chirps but nothing shows on the screen. I have to unlock the phone and go into the messaging app to find the text.
I had an iPhone previously and when I got texts, I could see them on the lock screen, which was convenient because I could see who it was from and get a sense of the content and then decide to unlock it or not.

My phone READS my text messages to me, out loud. Loudly. For the whole world to hear. It interrupted a class I was giving on Tuesday and shouted out my order for cat litter was arriving today in the doctor's office.
I have googled this situation and tried a "fix" posted by someone here, but it didn't take. I'm ready to throw this phone against the wall the next time it does this!

Everything in pictures folder get deleted from time to time
Hello guys
As the titl say, every once & a while the content in pictures folder gets deleted on their own, I dunno how to know the source of the problem.
I had nexus 6p before & had the problem now I use HTC U11 & the problem still persists, iv read on the net it's probably due to a clean up app & I never used any clean up apps on either phones.
Anyone knows certain apps that does that :/? or know a way to know the source of the problem?
I already lost +300 photos so far due to this problem & many of them were important summeries I used for my studies, the only solution I found is backing up folders through google photos & this costs money and isn't practical for everything tbh.

Bluetooth headphones works fine for media but not calls.
When i connect my headphones (Razer Adaro Wireless) to my phone (galaxy s6 edge 7.0) it says "connected for media audio" rather than "connected for calls and media audio" like on my pair of wireless ear buds. Whenever I answer calls it just plays out of the phone speaker rather than the headphones. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

i think i bricked or soft bricked the nabi2
installed twrp 2.2.2,it wouldnt read the micro sd card, installed twrp 2.8 the slider failed to work, tryed to install twrp 2.6 . Now i have nothering including no OS. i can get to these 2 screens,can highlight any of the features on either section, but it does nothing but stay highlighted.

Why are there apps showing up in my recently used apps after i've shut them down?
I really hope someone can shed some light on this. So I usually go to the recent apps button on my Galaxy S7 and close them all as well as clear the cache before bed. When I wake up I check the recent apps button again and there are usually a bunch of apps popping up. I don't understand why, so I did a little experiment I did my routine before bed but I turned the wifi off on my phone and when I woke up and checked there were no recently used apps, exactly what I expected to see. The next night I tried it with the wifi on again and sure enough the next morning there were apps in the recently used apps button. I think it's fair to say that whatever is happening has to do with my wifi. Can anybody help me figure this out and stop it from happening further? Thank you in advance, I really hope this all made sense.

Re the 'no sound alarm' problem: I just phoned my providers, they said as long as the 'media' volume is up it should work fine, which seems to be true.
They tried all sorts and then they asked me to press the on and off button (on the right together with the lower volume button (lower one on top left), and that did the trick!!

I have zenfone 3 ze520kl some app that come pre loaded that are need for speed, sim city etc. I uninstalled them. But after few days thay again downloading over wifi especially these two nfs and sim city. I have uninstalled them 30 to 40 times but after a week they again download itself. From the camera app, the phone just loads Google Photos app, doesn't matter how much I tried to change the default gallery, if google Photos is not disabled, it will always be loaded.

Honor 8 not fast charging after Nougat update
Tried different cables, plugs etc. 2 different Orignal huawei chargers used. None of them worked. Sent device to huawei service centre, got back, worked fine. Received update to Nougat. Updated. Back to square one.
Not fast charging, not recognizing as a media device. My car also refused to detect it.
I am sure it is software issue but not sure how to fix.

Galaxy S6 - Unable to Add Music
I have had music files (mp3) transferred from my computer to my phone via USB for a while. I went to clean off all the music tonight, and re-add what albums I wanted back, but now it's not letting me copy anything from my computer to my phone via USB? So my Leeco le pro 3's wifi would not turn on (I would turn it on and before it could connect to anything it would immediately turn off). Therefore, I did a hard reset, but nothing has changed (except for the lost data). I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, any help is appreciated! I've tried turning off and waiting in case it was the power cycles, and restarting in safe mode, and none of these seemed to work.

Pixel 2 XL on ATT any problems?
I am trying to move from iPhone to Pixel 2XL. I want to move my unlocked Pixel from my Version Acct to my ATT account and put my iPhone in a desk drawer. If I take the sim out of the unlocked Verizon Pixel and put the ATT sim into it, will it work well? I am afraid to do it until I know that the Pixel works well on ATT. Restarting App. Not the usual ones.
My phone has a problem where each time the phone locks or the window changes, the application that I am currently using would restart.
This happens to all application in my phone. It is hard to download stuff when the application keeps on restarting.
Example would be, I am playing a game on my phone. When someone calls me, right after the call is done, the application would restart.

Why does Swype keep asking me to enable it at least once a day?
Lately as of about a week or two, the keyboard Swype has been popping up randomly when I try to type asking me to enable this keyboard, yet it is never disabled as it's the only keyboard I like to use. This happens at least once a day, not sure exactly when it started but it's gotten to be pretty obnoxious. Is this a fault in a new update or is the problem something else?

Has anyone else noticed that AT&T Samsung phones lose signal strength just by using LTE?
I noticed this when the LTE was first activated so after getting tired of little to no signal, I went into the secret menu and switched off the LTE and went back to HSPDA and now have 3-5 bars all the time in the same locations. Internet speed has not affected much. Signal strength is -102 dbm on LTE but it is -79 dbm on HSPDA at the same location. The tower is 1.2 miles away and supports both LTE and 3G and HSPDA.

i get phone calls that I don't answer, so it goes to voice mail. they hang up, don't leave a message, yet I get notified of a 3:59 minute message. 3:59 after i reject the call I get notified of the vm - I look and see it is there and that it is 3:59 in duration, but there is no sound when I listen to it... this happens for all numbers that I reject where they don't leave a message. if they do leave a message, the appropriate duration is shown and I can hear the message... any idea what i can do to stop the vm from recording 3:59 min of nothing?

Since the last time I had any type of video chat was with an iPhone. We have AT&T and our friend is Verizon. So can we only video chat with our own carrier? What is Android Password? I never assigned one.
I've had this phone Blu X One cell phone for a year. Did system update as requested on screen and now is asking "To Start Android, Enter Your Password" -- but I have never assigned a password for android. Intergrating To-Do, Shopping List, Events, and Calender together?
I want my a to-do list app that I can then push to the calendar app (so as to give me a deadline) but also a shopping list app that I can also push to the calender.
The biggest problem that I'm facing right now is that I need a calendar that separates one-time events from on-going events.My problem right now is that I'm using google calendar and I put let's say Oct 20 - Dec 30 is a museum exhibition that I want to see so I put it in the calendar and then I have a doctors appointment on Nov 30. For Nov 30 there's two events which isn't so bad, but there's about 15 exhibitions that I want to see, so everyday is quite crowded.

Home and recents icon disappear Galaxy S8
On the navigation bar for my Samsung Galaxy S8 the home and recents icons disappeared, but the back button is still there. Ive checked the settings, it shows theyre all supposed to be active. My navigation bar will hide itself, as i have that setting in place, but that's not what im referring to. Home amd recents icon gone. Completely. Ive done a reset and it fixed it then, however it's happened again. Anybody have this issue?

my keyboard wont pop up anymore?
ok so i have a samsung galaxy light and its a really old phone but i still like to use it. about a week ago i went on a trip and i couldn't connect anywhere, but i blame my cellphone network. anyways, when we were leaving to go back home i tried to type something and i noticed my keyboard wouldn't pop up anymore. i just assumed that it was being slow again and i would just wait till i got home where i had better wifi. i got back home and i tried to type something again but the keyboard would still not pop up. i went into settings, i clicked language and input, and the options to check off which keyboard to choose, samsung keyboard or swype, was kinda greyed off, like it wasnt even an option anymore. its been a week now and every time i try to type, it wont let me. ive googled to see how other people do it but i already tried those things and they were either too modern for my phone or ive already tried it and it didnt work.

Software failure- now phone won't turn on at all
In March/April my M9's software was failing and I got an M10 instead. I had brought it to Sprint and they told me the software was corrupted, making my text messages come in literally days later, operating system not working right, couldn't make any phone calls without having something popping up on the screen and ending it, couldn't receive calls, etc...
Instead of resetting and losing everything, I got a new phone. I had the "what if" thought of "if I reset my phone and it doesn't fix it, I lost everything (without having a spare phone to transfer everything to, and still have a broken phone."
I transferred everything to my M10 over a few days. Recently, I went through my drawer of old phones and I was turning them all on to see what I have on there. I have a picture that didn't transfer over from a text message that I want to get, and now the phone won't turn on at all.
I charge it and the battery does charge up (because it feels hot like it used to do when I used the phone.) I try VOL+ and power, power, VOL-, VOL- and power, and nothing. What can I do? I want to at least get the phone to power on. Could I take it to Sprint and see what they can do?

Hi I did a factory reset on my S5 and I added my gmail. It asked me to update google play services which i did but when i went back to finishing the restoration process it said google play services should be updated- which it was. Galaxy J5 mirroring to laptop + SideSync fail
Hello, I have some issues. I'm trying to screen mirror my J5 to my laptop with SideSync, and the USB connexion fails everytime (and yes, I have debogged USB on my phone). When I try the QR code, it doesn't work. Only the code works, but then, everytime i try to open an app, it says "failure try again" (but it does open up on my phone).
Is there a solution to that ?

AOD turns off in low light - VZW Note 8
I have noticed on my Note 8 that the AOD turns off in low light and darkness. This is frustrating because I use it for a night clock. I have checked and the AOD is set to 'Show Always' and Auto-brightness is turned off. It will stay on for a minute or 2 then go off completely. I can pass a light source over the screen and it comes back on.

Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition Wifi Issue
I have recently bought the second hand version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition.
It has a severe problem that it keeps getting disconnected from my home Wifi connection.
I have checked the product, and the wifi works well when I connect to AlwaysOn (one of the famous public Wifi). But, still it does not work well at home.

Why would my JB notification shade show SMS from over a year ago?
Running JB 4.3 on an old HTC OneX, this happened twice this month, first displaying (on the pull-down notification shade) a text from Dec. 2016 then again a text I'd received in Aug. 2016. Also had many buggy duplicate SMSs lately, like every text I receive twice, in real time then again 16 min. later. Any ideas SMS glitchiness could indicate, should I be checking for malware, or what settings could I toggle?

just bought a budget lenovo p2 to replace my ageing iphone 4.
love the picture quality and the phone in general.
just a few niggles, maybe as android is more 'open' there's something i need to change.
first issue is tethering the phone to my tomtom satnav.
with the iphone once set up i never had to do anything ever again.
currently with the lenovo i have it working fine but when i then leave my car and return later, i have to put on the phone and turn on the tethering again and then turn on the bluetooth tether part. is there a way to make this totally automatic? - i have the satnav as a trusted device.
secondly is playing music via bluetooth.
i can do that succesfully and without problem until today.
i use either the google music app or vlc. suddenly today i find i can't skip tracks using my car's steering wheel controls even though the music is still playing fine over bluetooth. am i missing something obvious?

Why am I note receiving SMS from iPhones on my Note8?

How do I get messenger to notify with Top Icon but not With Popup message at top?

I just got a Google Home and an Echo Dot from Black Friday and after playing with both individually I now want to set up things that are more useful.
The first thing I'm trying to do is to set them so if whichever one I'm near, I can say "OK Google / Alexa, add coffee to my shopping list" and it will add them to the SAME list?
I'm surprised at how little came up about this when searching so thought I would ask the experts!
Would appreciate any other helpful tips etc from anyone else that has one of each 😀

Contact sync option missing
I have a Samsung A9Prorunning Android 7. I am trying to set it up like my Samsung phone to sync Google Calendar and Contacts. Both work fine on my phone and PC. On the tablet, though, in the Google account setting there is NO "Sync Contacts" option. There are options for syncing Gmail and Calendar, and they both work fine, but no option to enable Contacts sync.
I have cleared the Contacts app cache, removed and reinstalled the Google account numerous times with restarts in between, but still nothing.
Anybody have any ideas of what to do next?

Problem with SmartThings and Nvidia Shield with Google Assistant Integration
I recently got the SmartThings hub connected to my Nvidia Shield (2017). Setup was fine. However, when I went to add the SmartThings hub as a device for Google Assistant in the Home app it listed four new devices.
In the "Devices" tab in "Home Control" I now have new four devices. The device names are, "Good Morning!", "Good Night!", "Goodbye!" and "I'm Back!".
I expected one device to show up - the hub - and instead it appears four different routines/commands showed up instead.
Weirdly, I can assign each of these expressions to a room. Has anyone run into a similar issue. I haven't had any trouble in the past adding my Nest thermostat, Hue bulbs, or anything else.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

How can I restore music to my phone?

On an S7, i have a photo that shows up on device in Google Photos, but was not uploaded and seems to be residing on device at /storage/0123-4567/DCIM/Camera/20171123_152841.jpg The problem is probably a corrupted SD card. The photo obviously is temporarily stored somewhere. The photo has 3.6 MB when info is accessed directly from the photo, but has 0 MB in all other file locations. Can I access the /storage folder without damaging things? Probably a system folder of some sort?

Yesterday i tried to install a new ROM on my LG Android phone (My LG phone is not working properly, it has a reboot loop). I tried to do a factory reset without success -> the dead Android logo appeared :/
I put my phone in Download Mode and connected to the pc but Windows does not recognize my phone.. it says: "USB device not recognized.. the last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it"
I do not know what to do now.. when i try to flash a ROM with the LG Flash Tool it fails because LG program does not recognize my device..
PS: LG Support Tool recognizes my phone (it shows the model) but i cannot flash a ROM:(

Mobile Data not working on Galaxy S7
Ok, so I got a new phone 4 days ago. A T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7, the phone has been great so far!. But, this morning I found out that my mobile data wasn't working.
I tried to restart the phone a couple of times, but it didn't work (I noticed that the notification bar showed 4g LTE for a few seconds after going back to the 'x'). Pulling out the SIM didn't work either. WiFi calling was working though.
Finally, I ended doing a factory reset and it seemed to fix the problem.
Is this a known issue on this phones? I want to believe this was caused by a corrupted app or something, and not a hardware issue, but I don't know.
Additional info on the apps installed:
- Google Launcher and Keyboard
- Regular google apps (keep, maps, Gmail, etc.)
- Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook
- Spotify
- Zooper Widget
Those are the apps I can remember, it was pretty default after that.
Also, would like to know how to verify my device's warranty, just if I'll need to take it in.

Skype Issues With Galaxy J7Pro
I bought a Samsung Galaxy J7Pro, and I see that Skype is "pre-installed" (READ: core component that can't be uninstalled).
I cannot do *anything* with Skype (like use it...) unless I sign up to Samsung Apps.
1. How did Skype become a core component of Samsung phones?
2. Is there a way of using Skype w\o becoming a slave of Samsung? (I don't have this problem with other apps. So far....)
3. After reading reviews of the the latest version (8.x) I would rather use an older version. Can I do that?

I need to unlock an HTC hero sprint version, with Cyanogen Mod 7, Lock-Screen?
So, I have been cleaning my space and found an old phone that has a picture of my kid with my dead grandpa I really want to recoup. I don't want to re-set the phone. Alarms not waking phone from screensaver
I've had a bug since upgrading to Android 8.0. Device is a stock Nexus 6P.
If the phone is in screen saver when the alarm goes off, the screen remains black and the device cannot be woken up. I have configured the volume buttons to snooze the alarm but they do not work either. After about one full alarm cycle, the screen finally wakes up and dismisses the alarm and the Clock app force closes. It's extremely frustrating trying to silence an alarm before it wakes the wife who's trying to sleep!

how to block sms when menu doesn't show in messages
When I receive some text messages in the standard Android Messaging app on Samsung s8 (no root) a name will appear instead of the mobile number that it comes from.
These messages are spam and I have my phone number on the do not call register.
The message will come through and only have the "delete" option at the top right, there is no menu option there to block the sms.
These messages also don't have the ability to reply, whether they have how to unsubscribe or not, which is really weird.
I've checked viruses, malware and my phone is fine with everything else working fine, just can't work out how to stop these from coming through.
It doesn't have a phone number for me to add to the block contacts option, and the name that is provided instead of the mobile number is not in my contact list, so I cannot block them via that way.
I have tried everything, anyone have any issues? Any help would be appreciated so much!

Lg stylo 3 tempered screen protector will not fit properly why?

My phone isn't showing any animations
Hello, I need animations on my phone for debugging my application on my phone.
I am running Android 7.0 and I got animations turned on in developer options.
It is running the normal animations the ones when you switch pages etc. But when you search for something in the settings menu the circle which is supposed to be animated is standing still.
I can't find anything on how to fix it, so any help is much appreciated.

HTC M9 cant play media or record audio, hardware fault?

Problem with moisture detetcted galaxy s8
I got strange problem with my galaxy s8 exynox version unlocked. So, when i charge my phone with original adapter, notification moisture detected has been pop up. I already make sure that the port or even the cable are dry and clean.
I restart my phone, and try it again, and the notification pop up again. I connect my original adapter to wireless charge and no problem at all.
Then, when i change my the adaptor with another phone adapter, but still using my s8 cable, my phone can charge. But when i using the original adapter, the moisture detcted is come again. Any solutions ? Thank you.

Launch bulleted, combined notes from Google Assistant
I want to use Google Assistant to open an app (currently using Docs, tried OneNote and Evernote, looking for suggestions) that will open a single unlimited page for bulleted (multi level) text notes, ready to type, without any additional user input.
I don't think I'm alone in often wanting to make/edit/view notes of thoughts while driving or walking without having to navigate a bunch of interfaces.
I've tried Assistant's note to self command but the notes it creates with Evernote and OneNote are out of context, unbulleted, and buried in various interfaces rather than all on one simple page where they can be viewed much more efficiently on a phone screen.
If there's an app out there that fits, I'd love to hear about it. Otherwise, I'd like to open a Google Doc ready to type with just an Assistant command. I suspect the best way to do this is with some combination of AutoVoice, AutoInput and Tasker, or IFTTT but I've never used any of them and don't know whether that even makes sense to attempt. It could be as simple as switching to a specific "window" that's already open, but I can't find an Assistant command for that. Another way would be to use a URL but apparently Assistant doesn't support URLs which is pretty lame indeed.

Is it possible to keep a device not go to sleep mode as long as there's human in front of it, say about 1.5-2 ft from the screen?

How do I stop the continuous downloading of English US

I cant put my phone lock back to swipe cuz the 1st to r grayed out .
I dropped my phone while I had my phone on 4 diget pin, but I only put that on while out . I went to put it back to swipe & the 1st 3 on the list are grayed out , like none, swipe, & 1 more . Then it only allowing me to use pin or password.Plz help . I have LG tribute 2

Samsung Galaxy J7 Gallery No Items
Ok, so I've searched pretty much every forum, with no fix. I just received the latest update and now my gallery shows no pictures. They are in my media files, but not my gallery. I've deleted the '.nomedia' files and still isn't working. Manually rebooted to clear cache, still nothing. This is really frustrating to have to go through my media files just to see a picture. Oh, and even when I take new pictures with the camera, they don't show up either. Please help

Secure folder compatable with Google Pixel 2?
Thinking about getting a Google Pixel 2 but really feel like the Note 8's SECURE FOLDER app would be useful. New to Android and don't know if Secure Folder will only work on Samsung devices or if it would work on the Pixel / other devices as well? ANYBODY KNOW? Thanks
