Why does my phone act up when I put in earbuds?

I have an LG phone and whenever I use a new pair of any type of earbuds, google keeps popping up, my ringer is raised in volume and my sound keeps raising and lowering. Ive had to delete google which got rid of the constant google pop ups, but even as I type this my sound keeps raising all the way. I keep turning it down but it always turns back up! Its frustrating to deal with. I just want to listen to music but I didn't know it would be this much of a hassle!
