Why won’t my Samsung Galaxy s6 active turn on?

My dad got a new phone and gave me his old one. I have fully charged it and have tried a soft reset but it still won't power on. I assume that the battery charges because the phone will feel warm after charging all day. I have tried everything to turn it on but nothing works
