my phone got wet by my food, and then after I blower my phone then put it in a jar full of uncooked rice, after, I turned it on but the screen is black and it keeps turning off just after it turns on. what should I do? I don't want to buy a new phone.

Why is my android turns up brighness eventhough auto adjust is off?

I am using an android 5.1 version and had my screen brightness at lowest and adaptive brightness turned OFF, but sometimes, the screen just automatically cranks the brightness to max, when i turned it back to low it will turn back up again few seconds later. I tried turning the adaptive mode on and off and restarting my phone but it's still the case. Anyone who experienced this too?

I'm using the pre installed mail/calender app. I use the search function a lot but it seems impossible to search for anything that is more than 1 month old.
Outlook account.
I have changed the sync period in every option.
Is it a software issue or could it be a setup fail ??

Samsung galaxy s7 software update on different carrier

This Is my first post here and yes I'm aware there are similar threads to this but are close to my sotuation...and I've researched everywhere and can't get an answer...

I have a galaxy s7 edge from T-Mobile that will like to take with me to South America where I will be living permanently.

The device can be unlocked, and is compatible with this other country's carrier frequencies, however, my question is, how will I get filmware updates if I will no longer have TMobile ?
I've read that I can use Samsung Switch pc for that if I'm no longer connected to TMobile service, Is that correct ? Has in a similar situation tried this ?

Calendar added "Assignment" event and it isn't letting me delete them

Im using the calendar widget on my phone. You can add and delete events for the calendar like holidays or birthdays, but for no reason my calendar started adding its own events based on things happening in my school and it wont let me customize or delete them. Normal events show up as light blue, but these show up as dark brown. Is there a way to delete these events, or at least hide them from my calendar?

Why does the new predictive text suck

Dear Nougat,

I could've maybe handled you erasing all of my saved, custom words and having to manually correct "duck this shut!" or "you're making me gum", but why oh why do you constantly autocorrect all my words that are actually words and instead don't even touch words that are obviously typos? I know you know that numbers aren't letters cuz the correct word is in the suggestion bar, you just don't auto-replace it. Yet, how many times do I accidentally, incorrectly say something simple like "Are you at hole?" Not to mention, all the typos you ignore correcting are so quick to be added to my dictionary that now "hoo4ay!" is always a thing I have to manually un-learn while "the" still has trouble sticking.

Samsung galaxy s3 mini trouble

I have a Samsung galaxy s3 mini, and I've had quite some trouble with it. First, it would never charge properly, and now it won't even turn on after it ran out of battery. Possibly cause I dropped it to the ground (something I've done a lot, accidentaly, without furthermore consequenses. But now the charging symbol won't show, the screen has a stripe across when I try to restart. But it vibrates, and the buttons to the left and right of the homebutton will light up.

I've already tried to remove the battery, keep the battery out, to press the start-button, but it won't work.

LED notification not working

Since my update earlier today, my LED notification light does not work for email and text messages. Confirmed that it is on in settings and cache cleared, still not working. Any way to turn off LTE on LG Premiere?

I have a new LG Premiere LTE Tracfone running on Verizon towers, and Cell Standby is killing my battery. My signal strength is bad -- hovering around -112 dBm. My other LG 3G CDMA phones work great here. Researching online seems to indicate that with a new phone, Cell Standby drainage is probably due to a weak signal, and that turning off LTE may help. So I want to try turning off LTE, but I can't find a code to get into any hidden menu. I've tried *#*#4636#*#* and ##778 # but they only send me to a Verizon voice msg saying can't be completed. Anyone have any suggestions or know any magic code to use to turn off LTE? Am I even understanding all this correctly? I really appreciate any insights...

Screen Zoom Stuck on "Large"

My Galaxy S7 updated to Nougat last week and it was all good until the display settings suddenly changed without warning today.

My screen zoom setting is now set to Large and the slider does not allow me to adjust it to Medium or Small. The slider is effectively "greyed out" - the circle is hollow in the middle, whereas the slider for font size is blue and allows me to move it.

Has anyone experienced this and/or knows how to fix it?

I'm not sure what I'm missing here. I have Samsung Grand Prime, and when I first downloaded Accuweather, I had a large display of the temperature and clock in the right top corner of my screen. Then, it suddenly disappeared. I see responses here to find the widget and move it the place you want. I have the widget (icon of the Accuweather), but when I move it with my finger, it does nothing except now I can see the icon in a different place of the screen. The temperature and date are still not showing. I am older and really not savvy with those kind of things. Why is my camera app behaving weird since update/factory reset

So, I did a software update for my Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 a few days ago and decided to do a factory reset afterwards because my phone was cluttered with garbage. Since then, my camera App just disappeared from the app drawer and my homescreen, and when I launch it from the gallery or the quick camera button on my lockscreen I get a black screen with the App's UI visible but no Image being shown. Also, camera apps i downloaded from the appstore and whatsapp only use the front camera and treat the "flip camera" button as Kind of a "Zoom-out-button". I have checked the camera app under settings>apps, it's neither restricted nor deactivated. I went on to delete it's data and clear it's cache as well as try a secure boot. What the actual hell is ging on and how do I fix it.

How do I remove nougat update?

I HATE the new update on my s7 edge!!! Did they seriously think anything was better on this update? I could list hundreds of reasons why this update is IDIOTIC!
When I compose a new message it added an extra step and brings me to contacts instead of message composition.
I can no longer split screen in a user friendly way.
I cannot pop up window apps that I used to.
It doesn't have a way to drag and drop paragraphs from the popup window anymore.
The buttons for apps and settings are HORRIBLY designed and not user friendly anymore.
My battery drains WAY faster because of the bright themes.
It looks like a dinosaur from 1998 with its layout styles and font.
Texting is harder. It seems to be less intelligent in recognoxomg <yep my phone didn't correct that word. Recognizing words!
I hate hate hate this update. Please provide a way to get rid of it!!!!!

Why can't I set different alert sounds for different apps?

I have a G4. It was running *very* slow so did a factory reset which fixed the problem. But now I can't seem to set different alert sounds for different apps. I formerly had a different alert sound for calendar, text, facebook, etc. Each had a different sound so I knew what was alerting without picking it up. After the factory reset I can only set one sound for everything. Any ideas are appreciated.

I downloaded about 80 songs on frostwire it worked just fine few months later i installed an app from mobogenie and my songs vanished one day later.when i went to music player and nothing i downloaded 3 to 10 songs next day gone i still had few songs from frostwire so i download it again but it still doesn't work. can anyone help me :(

s8 plus burning desire, if anyone knows if camera software or hardware was improved

of course samsung won't divulge trade secrets of manufacturing processes over the phone,and carriers are of no use. i was certain somewhere on this planet that providers of note 7s camera parts or software was implemented into the s8 series phones cameras. trust me when i say owned 2 note 7s, the quality was very improved over such as the s7 edge. any intelligent person please give insight to the realm of reality.

Google Play Services Constantly Stopping!

So first it started out with Google Fit not working & saying there was an error signing into my account. All my information is gone. But now all my Google Service Run Apps like Play Music, Play Games, Android Auto, etc. Aren't working correctly either. Every 2-5 minutes I'm greeted with a "Unfortunately Google Play Services Has Stopped" error. This is so frustrating. I don't know if I'll have to rest, but if I have to I will as a last resort. I'm using a Boost Mobile Samsung Galaxy S6 64GB, running Marshmallow 6.0.1, and the February 1, 2017 Security Patch.

Global error message: "ERROR CODE: -504" APP CAN'T BE INSTALLED

Recently my Nexus& 2013 went postal. Long used apps and games would no longer run. I attempted to install security programs and they and other apps were met with the above message. I should note the tablet was rooted, but KING ROOT seems now to have been "disabled." I am sure this is a result of gaming installs although I don't recall when this started happening. The question is what do I do going forward if I'm unable to even run a simple virus on anti-malware tool? Do I set factory resent, Godk forbid?

So many issues with my M9 after software update. Now I can't back up any of my files.

It's been a few months since I've upgraded my software to 4.19.1500.1 and ever since this update, my phone has been:

1. Slow and laggy
2. Won't open Google Play or update any apps
3. Won't sync Gmail
4. Won't back up my files

I've tried clearing the Google Play and Google Play Services cache, uninstalling the updates, restarting, and the issue remains. At this point I'm thinking of just factory resetting my phone but backing up doesn't work either. Nothing happens when I click "Back Up'. This is really frustrating. Any ideas will be super helpful. Thanks!

Why is my Android TV Box waking up from suspend/sleep when I change my TV's input?

Just bought a new Android TV box from Amazon (Binwen Android 6.0 Amlogic S905X Quad Core 3D 4K Support 2.4G Wi-Fi 1GB/8GB). For some reason, when I power the box down using the "Suspend and Resume" option, the device will go to sleep but wake up from that sleep/suspension as soon as I change my TV's input to my Cable input. No idea why, just wondering if you had any ideas? Thanks.

OnePlus 3T icron grid issue!

Hello,

This is my first time posting. I am using a 128 GB OP3T running Nougat and on Oxygen OS 4.1.1. For some reason, from when I upgraded to 4.1.0, my desktop icon grid automatically changed from a 4x4 to a 5x5. I know it's basic but I can't find any way to switch back to 4x4. Has anyone else encountered the same issue? And does anyone know how to fix it? Changing the icon and font size doesn't work, I've tried that already.

Galaxy Note 4 - S-Pen not working on a part of a screen

So... I have second hand note 4 (and I don't have guarrancy now). Everything was fine for few months but today s-pen stopped to work in a 3/4 height half of inch strip from left to right side of screen. When I move it above this strip air view points stops and after moving half of the way it appears on the other side.
Is my phone damaged by water? I splashed some time before a bit of water on the screen, but I get rid of water fastły, so i don't now if it's connected. Especially if it wasn't my first time "moisturizing" screen.
Has anyone similar problem? What was the cause? Is it problem with s-pen (I wish, buying new doesn' require money.), software, this thing in the screen which detects s-pen is damaged or is it any other reason?

Does anybody know how to fix that and how much it'll cost if phone is damaged? I don't have enough money to change whole screen etc. (It's hard to say how much money I can pay for it. I use other currency. I hope it'll fit in 10% of used phone cost or I can fix it on my own. Otherwise i'll be sad. :( )

PS. Sorry for writing too much text. I'm stressed a bit.

PS2. I forgot to mention that I have glass screen protector, but it was there for months and everything was fine.

And I also have no magnets there, so this isn't a reason.

No sound in call recording (Automatic Call Recorder)

Hi all,

I downloaded the automatic call recorder app to use to record a few phone interviews I needed to conduct.
However, there is no sound coming out of one of my recordings for some reason, the others work just fine. The recording plays for its duration, and even shows it has enough data, so it isn't an empty file. I have no idea why there is no sound. In fact, all my calls recorded since yesterday have no sound, but everything before it has sound.

Is there any way I can get the sound back on that call?
Any assistance will be very helpful, as this was quite an important call for me. :/

App permissions vs. All permissions

When I installed Outlook, it asked for permissions to wipe the phone (I guess it's an enterprise thing?).

Anyway, when I look at the app permissions for Outlook, I disabled everything (Calendar, Contacts, Location, Storage). But when I click on the "All permissions", one of the thing that is listed is

Storage
modify or delete the contents of your USB storage
read the contents of your USB storage

Which setting takes precedence? The "app permissions" setting I chose, or the "all permissions" settings that I can't change?

Samsung Galaxy S7 Android 7.0 notification pull down menu text gone

I just got the latest android update on my Samsung Galaxy S7, Nougat, and the pulldown menu no longer displays text underneath the icons (WiFi, Bluetooth, Location, Autorotate, Airplane Mode, etc...). Is there a way to get the text to display again? The text displays when I expand it twice (or use the two finger pull-down gesture), but not on the first pull that just shows the first line of icons.

Samsung s7 slow charging

Recently my s7 has been taking forever to charge. I have fast charging on. I've also tried with fast charging off. With the original fast charger the estimated charge time from 86% was 1hr10m. When I used the original power adapter with the usb cable from an LG charger it was 52 min. With original usb cable and LG adapter it was 40 min. And with the LG power adapter and LG cable it was 25 min. Does it sound like an issue with the fast charging power adapter?

Is there a problem with my micro SD encryption?

I have an LG G5 running Android 7.0 with the latest updates on T-Mobile. My micro SD is a 128 GB Sandisk class 10 with about 100 GB full. I've had the card for a few years but haven't noticed any slowdown issues. I decided to encrypt the card using Android's built-in features. It's been going on about an hour now at 1% complete. It did start at 0% and moved up to 1% after about 20 minutes, but I'm concerned now that it may be stuck, as I've read about that happening. Most of the files on the SD card are photos/videos/music, with the rest being app data and whatnot.

Is there anyway to tell if the encrypting process is stuck? If it's stuck, what should I do? How long should I expect it to take? A day? Longer?

Finger print scanner broken after water damage

My phone fell under my sinks water for a second yesterday. I quickly dried it but it didn't help. The volume rocker was broken but started to work again though the scanner didn't so I put it in a bag of rice. Nothing has changed. The rice isn't even wet.

Huawei handset, unable to record to video

When I try to record videos the message Camera is currently recording audio appears.
Com.google.android.googlequicksearchbox.interactor will not be able to record right now !!!!!!!
I've taken the handset back to the EE shop where they think they've solved the problem but minutes later it resorts to the above message.

Factory reset to get back some speed?

I have a Note4. It seems a little slow these days. On a different device, a nexus 7 gen 2 I watched the tablet get slower with each Android system update. I'm wondering if that is what is happening on my Note4 or whether it is just too many apps loaded and too much stuff on the Note4. I'm thinking of doing as deep of a reset as I and then loading apps as I remember that I need them. Photos, music and docs are all in the cloud so I wouldn't bother to even back up anything before a complete reset. Maybe I'll find that I use 100 apps rather than the 320 that I have loaded.

Is it worth doing this?

Hi, I work on a UK ferry that has its own mobile Internet network that passengers can use (MCP). This network turns on automatically when leaving port and costs a astronomical amount of of money to use, sometimes I leave my mobile data on in error and get hit with charges. My question... Is there a app or something in settings that can stop or restrict a certain mobile network so your phone will never use it?

Automatic Call Recorder Pro 22,345 Appliqato has me talking to myself

Can anyone explain how to get my TOTAL conversation recorded on all calls? When playing back on my s5 with the PRO version, there are some conversations that I can hear the entire conversation( my voice and the person that Im talking to). The majority of the conversations listen to, allow me to hear my voice ONLY,which isnt helpful to me at all. This is NOT ASSISTIVE when I have to dispute transactions because Im following the "fail proof suggestions" of a representative or supervisor. Now upon initial installation, it worked well.... no problems. Just curious as to any suggestion to resolve the issue other wise the app is just a use of my phone memory.

Why is panning in audio not working?

I am using Samsung J500H for about 2 years now, and I have experienced panning in all my songs until I bought a new sd card and transferred all my songs there. When I bought it, all the songs that had panning on them do not pan now, and I am really confused. Is the sd card corrupt? Pls I need an immediate answer.

Cannot connect to server when trying to update

I own a ZTE, Z963VL phone that resets randomly, almost at the same time every morning.

It's infuriating because I'll be in the middle of doing something.

I tried deleting apps I don't use, and when I went to update my phone, thinking maybe it needed updated, I got a message saying it can't connect to the server.

Repaired phone came back stolen ,and as a note 4.

I received my repaired s4 back I took it to the Verizon store to activate it .the s4 came up in system as stolen. I took it home, and the imei was different from the s4 I sent in. I checked the imei on a black list site, and the imei comes up as a Galaxy Note 4 not a Galaxy s4. The paper work I received said the device was repaired, and most of the internal parts were replaced.
What's going on ?

Connection problem on "dead" phone

Lately my phone dropped into water.
After the drop it worked fine.
Next day I bough some rice to take the water completely out.
Now the phone will react if I do a hard reset ( pressing during 10 second the off button) but nothing shows up onto the screen.
So I guess it is broken but this wouldn't explain why my phone can't be recognized by my PC (to save the date).
Is there any possibility to get the data on the main phone disk?

can't find lg g4 when connected to pc

I simply do not get any pop up on my pc or my G4 . This used to work , now nothing. I am using the supplied cable from lg ( and have tested it with another phone - all ok so i know the cable and my pc haven't had any settings changed ). I find the new Samsung update more cumbersome to use. I'm very disappointed.

In the threads about this issue, I have read over and over again that if one doesn't like the new design, then just get a new app. That is missing the point! I shouldn't have to do that. I shouldn't have to find new apps or create new color schemes or do any of the other alterations mentioned. I have already done that and gotten my phone exactly the way I like it. This update created a whole new set up that I don't like. The ease of usability has gone backwards a generation or two.

After modifying the gps.conf my hardware key have stopped working. When i revert to the old gps.conf it works again. Is there any way of keeping the modified gps.conf and hardware keys working. Why do my texts get returned to me

Hi when i try to text a number on my contacts list. As soon as i hit send my own text gets delivered back but in gray box as if it were from the other person, iv texted two other ppl and it doesnt do this with them , just the one person. What does it mean? :( did i get blocked or put on reject number list? Please help

Speaker cuts out during call after Nougat update

Since the Nougat update, I'll be in the middle of a call on speakerphone and just lose audio completely. Obviously was not an issue before.

How can Reverse Galaxy 7 Update? HATE THE ICONS AND BACKGROUND! How can I reverse back??

The background makes everything harder to read, and my custom background theme is gone. The icons look hokey and small. Is there a way to reverse the update? I have looked through setting to see if I could change the background and icons and there is nothing that I could find to do it. Even my text messages are not on the same background that I had before.

My Galaxy s6 battery is draining very quickly after most recent systemupdate

I have spent the better part off the day in chats with Samsung and Sprint reps trying to get to the bottom of what's causing my ridiculous battery drain. I was fully charged at 7.30 and just about three and a half hours later, at 7%.

I've done the ##a bunch of numbers# on the phone keypad reset, which has worked previously.

Tech support had me do a factory reset, which helped slightly.

The Sprint store said it's planned obsolescence and to bit the bullet and get a new phone. That seems crazy. This phone isn't even two years old.

Anybody have any suggestions?

How to fix DotView after water damage?

My HTC got a bit wet but I didn't think anything got inside but then I turned it on and it had something called dot view on with a skyline and it was all pixelated
I don't think it touched anything magnetic
when it's on dot view i can't swipe my phone open and tapping the screen does nothing
when dot view goes away it asks for my decripting code as usual but instead of bringing up my home screen my phone just turns off and takes a few tries to turn it back on but just goes back to dot view

I have it in rice right now to try to fix it if thats whats wrong

Was I given a refurbished Z Force phone

I bought the Moto Z Force from Best Buy. It received the Nougat Update The day after I got it. It would randomly freeze up at least once a day & the battery drained fast. After researching everywhere I called Motorola who told me they had put a hold on the Nougat updates being pushed due to complications it created with the phone & that I could return mine to Best Buy (it was less than 2 weeks since I get it) & get a new one & the Nougat Update would not be pushed through so I could avoid the problems. Well I did that & Best Buy pulled the phone out from where they have the phones & swapped me over. Well guess what? This new phone came with Nougat on it. I also looked at the settings & it says last FDR was Jan. 21 2017 at 6:03 am. Does all this mean they gave me a reconditioned/returned phone or is it possible that it was just manufactured & shipped at a later date (Jan. 21 2017) & from different stock than the other phone & came with the update already? Everything was sealed up on it like it was new.

Can't receive text messages after 7.0 update

I just updated my phone a fee hours ago and I don't really have any problems with it besides the fact that I can't receive messages from my friends who have iPhones, ever since the new update. My friend tried to turn off their iMessage to see if that would work, but I still have not received any messages from them. For now I contact them through Kik. Anyone know how to fix this?

Phone doesn't ring, calls go straight to voicemail

As it sounds. 2-4 bars of 4G. Phone is NOT rooted. I'm not in do not disturb mode.
I'll get a voicemail from a call without any calls showing up as missed. I can make calls just fine. But no calls show up coming in. Notifications are on in the dialer.

I'm missing calls from my job and it's getting very, very frustrating.

Phone is a Huawei Ascend XT, ALSO happened on my Asus Zenfone 2 which I replaced because I assumed it was handset related.

Ascend is on 6.0.1, security patch is from July 2016.

I'd prefer NOT to do a full reset unless absolutely necessary. I doubt that'd help as, well, switching handsets didn't.
