Phone rings but won't send signal to notify a security door.

I live in a complex that has a security door. On my old Samsung Sport; when, I put in the buzzer number my phone rang and I could enter the pass number. On my new Samsung Galaxy S7Edge, I press the numbers for the buzzer. The phone then rings; but, when I press the pass number it doesn't work.
