Unable to log onto google account

My son's Samsung J5 had to be factory reset due to it being stuck on the Samsung screen. It was successfully done but now it won't allow him to sign into google as it keeps on saying that we must sign in with the owner's account. We are the first and only owner of the phone. Please help
