Screen rotation not working

My screen rotation was working well enough until a few months ago. It just suddenly stopped working when I checked my tab one day... I tried turning it off and on... But still nothing. Now every time I want to rotate my screen I have to open some app and then close it again to keep the screen in that orientation. Please help me out...
