Why are Zedge icons suddenly not working?

I just today downloaded the Nougat update for my Android S7. I've previously run into an issue where any icon I get from zedge doesn't replace my calender or clock default icon, not a big deal to me. But now, most of the icons I try to use have a big old gray background around them, which has never happened before. Is it just incompatible now?

If it is, where is a good place to get icons from? I've always used zedge so I'm unfamiliar with what else is out there for the Nougat system.
