My music has disappeared from my playlists but they are still inside my phone.

All of a sudden, my music has disappeared from my music players - yes, I tried different ones. I opened file managers and it says there I have 0 Music but, when I click on the music icon, I'm taken to my Music folder showing I still have all 500+ songs. If I click on the songs from the file manager folder, they do play on my music player, so... what's going on? I have restarted my phone, installed the latest updates...
