Why wont my LG stylo 2 plus not let me activate fingerprint scanner?

Out of nowhere I wasn't able to read my fingerprint on my power button. So I went the settings to try to fix it and now the option for fingerprints isn't there. Now instead of saying fingerprints and security it just says security. Please help.
