Why doesn't my Laptop recognize my micro sd card reader?

I've tried 3 sd card adaptors, the 3rd one a new one yet my laptop still doesn't recognize my micro sd card. I've tried switching the lock/unlock tab at the side of the card reader and checked in my device manager but it still doesn't recognize my card

my phone recognizes it and when I connect my phone to my laptop it recognizes the micro sd card storage. I need to remove the write protection from my micro sd card and it seems like the only way to do that is to use a card reader rather than through a usb cable. :(((
