Cannot flash android tablet, PC doesn't see device

I've protected my device (Samsung galaxy 4) with a password and one day it stopped accepting my password. I flashed it in the hopes of resetting it except it still asks for the pw and in a foreign language on top of that.
I tried reflashing it many times but the PC does not recognise it anymore, so I can't download the ROM onto it with Odin.
