Compulsive expired notifications

Pixel2 Android9: i keep getting repeat notifications for Instagram likes, comments and facebook messenger messages ive already checked. Sometimes 50 times after ive already read them. Not getting any similar experiences on Google about this, anyone else have this experience or ways around it?
