Why do I receive multiple copies of photos in texting?

Just had to replace my Moto G4. Old one worked fine...no problems. Now with the new one, when someone sends me a photo, I get duplicate copies of it...like 60-90!! Not the text, just the photo. Of course I can delete them, but it is so annoying! Any ideas?
