I'm a newbee, ok...so be easy on me, anyway want to hook up a speaker with chromecast audio

but I read that it requires a bluetooth connection, so here's my dilemma, here in Canada we do not have large packs of data, or unlimited data, will strreaming from my phone via bluetooth to the speaker use my very limited data from my phone? ( 500 MB )

fyi: I haven't bought a speaker yet, been looking at the ones that are being reviewed on this forum for under 35.00..anyway, thanks./ Randy
