Not possible any more to select which contacts to display based on group

I have a Samsung S8 with Android 9. All my contacts have groups assigned, and until recently (possibly up until Android 8) I had the possibility of filtering which contacts to display by selecting, for instance, groups "Business" and "Friends" but deselecting groups "People I barely know" and "All other not so relevant contacts". This was very useful when scrolling through contacts to limit the list to few tens of contacts rather than 500+

Now I don't have this option any more. My contacts retain the group information, but I have no way of selecting which ones to choose. I have to scroll through all 500+

Does anybody know if it is still somehow possible to filter by group (or "label")? Why has this function disappeared?
