How can I fix RAW file format permanently?

This problem has been bugging me for weeks, my sdcard which is formatted many times. It still turns into RAW format even though I eject the sdcard before removing it. After a format I use my sdcard to see it has turned into RAW again, happens everytime. I dont want to replace my sdcard yet but I will buy if necessary.
