No notifications for Gmail on note9

Suddenly my note9 stop sending me automatic notifications for email onto my phone I have no idea why. I've talked to Verizon they tried to help me and the only way I can get my emails if I go in and refresh. Anybody have any ideas why this is? Thanks in advance.

I couldn't find a note 9 category so I'm putting it under the closest thing I can find
