How can i unlock my samsung E5 ?

Earlier , i set a passcode for my samsung E5 but now i have forgotten the passcode and so i do not turn it off so that it does not gets lock. How can i unlock it if it ever gets lock ? Also, the last time it got locked i tried a number of passcodes and there came no option for "forgot password" so how can I get that ? I also searched it on the Internet and the results showed it to open the reboot menu but that would cause all the memory to be erased
