my wife's phone

My wife's Samsung young 2 has stopped showing contacts just says no name yet if she does a search they come up. We have turned the phone off and on again, deleted a number blocker I use (no problem on my phone) and my wife has removed and cleaned the sim but still no joy. I like my wife are confused as to why this has happened can anyone help.
Would putting the sim in another phone help
