Why is my phone not charging nor losing power

Why is my battery not charging. I was prompted to download a firmware update to my phone as usual. So I did. The following day until now when I am watching movies on YouTube my phone keeps stopping the movie. Then I would get a pop up about Samsung gear VR wanting me to download it. I don't know what this Samsung gear vr is.. one day my phone just went blank, I couldn't get nothing on the screen for 30 mins. Now the battery is not charging neither is the power going down. I got a pop up about power sharing. I was not sharing power with any device..
Please help
