Default USB Transfer Mode

Android 7 always REQUIRES an allow/deny for USB connections.
This should be rememberable, along with the default USB transfer mode.
I shouldn't have to switch: Use USB for [ transferring media files, transferring images, connecting MIDI devices, charging ] every time a cable is connected, but this choice should be remembered from the previous connection confirmation.

This question received the answer:
Why? PS. The above is a question. You are stating your opinion, which like........

... which is not, in fact an answer. So if my question isn't a question, and your answer isn't an answer, what exactly was the point of either of us posting?

It's a very, very small cerebral step to infer:
a) how does one inform Android 7 to remember the previous ALLOW/DENY choice for connecting a USB cable
b) how does one inform Android 7 to remember the previous USB connection type
