Note 8 has 2 icons for some apps, why and where do we load them from?

What is special about the Facebook, Snapchat and messenger preloaded that there are two loaded and one has special symbols on them? I was getting two Facebook notifications and deleted the messenger with the symbols now when I click on messenger in Facebook it says to download, I click to download it it takes me to play store and only option is open.
