Galaxy S7 died and is now stuck in recovery boot

Yesterday I woke up and my Samsung Galaxy S7 was off. I turned it on and it loaded then once it got to the home screen it turned off. I managed to start it again and then it died again and it hasn't loaded entirely since. I managed to get it to download mode but didn't want to flash a ROM so cancelled, then I tried to get it to recovery mode and no it's been stuck in "recovery booting..." for over a day. It only flashes "recovery booting" it doesn't actually give me the option to do anything, and it only does this when it's plugged in. As soon as I unplug it it dies and no response from any buttons.

So I think the last resort is to flash a new ROM. The weird thing is this: I can get it into download mode when it's plugged into the wall charger - which is useless because I can't do anything plugged into the wall. When I plug it into the USB port on my computer I can't get it into download mode, I'm assuming because its not getting the same amount of power?
Before it completely refused to turn on though it went from 54% to 70% so I don't think the battery is the issue but for some reason it needs to be plugged in to get any response.

I am nowhere near a Samsung store nor do I have the means to get to one soon, and Samsung online support didn't help past trying the button combos, which do nothing.

Thanks for your help
