Hi guys
I'm having the weirdest problem with my Huawei P9s. I say P9s because I have now had this same problem across two devices.
Very suddenly and randomly on my first P9 handset, it wouldn't charge. It would charge to about 18% then go no further. The battery would also drop very fast.
I troubleshooted this by changing the charging cables, inspecting the port, restarting the phone etc etc. Eventually, I did a factory reset and this solved the problem. It charged as normal all the way to 100%. For two days. Then the problem returned. This time it wouldn't charge past 12%. So I thought maybe it's something with the battery? The charging port connectivity was also poor and I had a cracked screen at this point so I thought eh, I'll just get a new phone. I really like the P9 so I decided to get a brand new P9 handset.
Everything has been fine for about a week. No issues. Always charging to 100% on the latest updated software. But then this morning I've woken up to find that my phone had been charging all night and only got to 12%. It refuses to go any further. I now have the exact same problem on this new handset.
The weird thing about all of this is that this all happens when the phones are plugged into mains sockets at the wall. When I plug the phone (both my old handset and the brand new one) into my laptop, a car charger or a portable battery, they charge fast all the way to 100%.
I really don't know what's going on but I feel it's something to do with the latest software updates? I find it hard to believe that it's a hardware issue with the battery or circuit board when the exact same problem is happening across two handsets - one of which is brand new.
Appreciate your time and help with this, cheers
