What is Android Password? I never assigned one.

I've had this phone Blu X One cell phone for a year. Did system update as requested on screen and now is asking "To Start Android, Enter Your Password" -- but I have never assigned a password for android. I have rebooted and power off and on but it will not work. Cannot bypass this question for a password.
