I'm on a budget and can't afford to upgrade from my old s4 , I use

The battery is dying on me so my question is this , is there any point me buying a new battery and trying to squeeze another year out if it? , my only other option is to buy second hand with all the b.s that can hold , £8 on a battery is so much more appealing than £150 second hand S5 that I don't want or need.
