Samsung Galaxy S6 Active- why can't I send messages from any app with keyboard open?

For some odd reason all of a sudden I can't send a message from any app including text with my keyboard open. I have to back space it closed then send. No matter the app or message type. Can't find anything on it to fix I'm at a loss here. Please help. Any insight or fix would be a blessing. Thanks.
