My tablet's eifi and Bluetooth won't turn on

I have an Ares Nextbook 8, bought brand new around Christmas for my daughter. Everything works fine, aside from the Bluetooth and WiFi not coming on. The Bluetooth switch stays gray, and when I try to turn the WiFi on, it says it's searching for networks, but it doesn't go further than that. Any suggestions? If this is a hardware problem, is it something I can fix myself? Any advice is appreciated.
