I've got a Samsung S4 running Jelly Bean 5.0.1. For several months I've been getting "insufficient memory" warnings and have been progressively deleting apps despite there being around 460MB of available storage. It's now gotten to the point that I can't download a 3MB app. I recently installed an SD and move all the apps across to that that could be. I have deleted all photo and video files and am basically running the bare bones.
Can anyone explain why with 500MB available space I'm still unable to install new apps?
As secondary question is what are the miscellaneous files that are using 1.8GB. When I open up that list, Whatsapp is at the top using 134MB. As I scroll down I quickly reach items that are listed in the KB. I've totalled the items that are listed and it comes to less than 300MB. What is going on, or is this just a symptom that I need a new phone as this one has become one of the living dead?
