Huawei Mate S wont update from EMUI 3.1

Hi. I've recently bought a huawei mate s 2nd hand from a company. However when i click on check for updates in settings itsays there are "No updates" and its currently running EMUI 3.1. There should be updates available as its running quite a old system, can anyone help me out? Thanks
